Askren vs Koreshkov scheduled for July 31st in New Mexico
This welterweight title fight finally gets a date. Does Koreshkov have what it takes to put Askren away? Or will Askren’s wrestling and top control be too much for the Russian?

Well, okay. Didn’t realize Riddle was a big enough name that Bellator would go buy out his contract but good for him I guess.
And the best part is Bellator’s drug testing is basically non existant. Riddle can smoke up all he wants.
Vyacheslav Vasilevsky vs Victor O’Donnell
I miss Slava. The 3x World Sambo champion and Judo blackbelt is one of the top up and coming middleweights not signed to a “big” promotion.
He needs to learn how to be a more well rounded wrestler and how to create scrambles from his back to get fights standing. Due to former contract obligations, he’s no longer with Bellator. He is back in M-1 and will be fighting Charles Andrade at M-1 Challenge 39 next Thursday (May 23rd).
Rich Hale vs. Vinicius Queiroz - heavyweight-tournament opening round Vitaly Minakov vs. Ron Sparks - heavyweight-tournament opening roundYeah, Minakov got dis.
Wow, they’re not even trying to hide the fact they want Minakov to win this. If I was Ryan Martinez, I’d be pissed.
Kinda breaking my rule on this one of no Bellator/WSOF/UFC fighters with Goiti. Making the exception since he hasn’t fought for Bellator yet, even though he is signed. At 20 years old, Goiti’s built up a 14-1 record in Brazil with 20 of his wins coming by way of submission. The featherweight will be looking to make his Bellator debut before the year is up. Presumably he’ll be a part of the upcoming featherweight tournament in the Fall. He just won a 1 day 4 man tournament in Smash Fight. From what I’ve seen he chains together submissions, using the opportunities to get subs, reversals, takedowns, sweeps, and do damage. His striking is set up around him being able to get fights to the ground, though he has looked pretty good in some instances if a bit sloppy. He’s pretty well built for featherweight, being 5’10 with and not a scarecrow. In the unpredictable Bellator featherweight division, he’s one to keep an eye on moving forward.
Michael Chandler vs Patricky “Pitbull” Freire
Chandler’s only fought twice since he captured the belt from Eddie Alvarez. He made easy work of both Gono and Hawn. He looks to continue his dominance and become the longest reigning Bellator lightweight champ (Eddie only had 1 defense). His next challenger will be Dave Jansen on June 19th when Bellator kicks off its Summer Series. Winner will most likely get David Rickels in the Fall.
Jessica Eye vs Zoila Frausto Gurgel
Starts at 10:17
Makes me miss Shaolin. Gotta love the standing arm-triangle.
Saw that Eye has a fight outside Bellator. Kinda hopeful that means her contract is up. Bellator isn’t getting her and Jag the fights they deserve.
Watch This: Check out this preview of the cast of Bellator’s
rip-off of TUFnew reality TV show, Fight Master.
If you get to chose your own coach, I can’t see anyone picking Joe Warren over Greg Jackson or Randy Couture.
I want Lelo to do well. I didn’t think too much of him before Bellator coming out a straight up capoeira background but he showed he had some potential and grit. Also, Joe Riggs? The debut season of “Fight Master: Bellator MMA” debuts June 19 on Spike TV, and the organization has unveiled the cast of 32 welterweights who will compete in the show’s tournament.Click the link for all the names. It’s not a horrible cast all things considered. If you’ve been following Bellator cards (namely the prelims) some of these guys are familiar. Evan Cutts is a nice get and could win the whole thing IMO.
